Does anybody have a cure for narcolepsy? I fell asleep again yesterday for what seemed like a very short while, but when I woke up, my shoelaces were tied together. The ONE DAY I forget to put a lock on them is the one day someone decides to get the prefect. I have a sneaking suspicion it was a Slytherin. In other news, I continue not to revert back to my former incarnation as a female. Which kind of sucks. I miss the attention.

Well, the Hufflepuff House has gone completely and utterly mad. Justin is a raving lunatic, Zacharias has been turned into a girl (like myself), and Susan is prattling on about wanting to join other houses. Now, the first two I can deal with--but Susan's complete lack of loyalty is really ticking me off! I can only hope her change of heart has to do with all the April's Fools pranks that are being pulled. In other news, does anyone have a bra I can borrow? My breasts are getting really out of hand and starting to make my back hurt.

Well... erm... Today has definitely been interesting. I woke up with a pair of breasts on my chest. Big ones, too. If only I were straight so I would be at leat a little bit interested in them. ... I'm having an interesting time coping with this turn of events. At least I'm not the only one who has to deal with this. I borrowed some lipstick and makeup from Hannah. She offered to put it on me and do my hair, as well. I think I look rather pretty, actually. I wonder what's going on with everyone else. So far, all I've noticed have been the sex changes, but Ginny has been rather cross lately as well.

I have decided that I shall no longer be constrained by the shackles my parents I have put upon me myself. My new goal in life is to be more carefree, to have more fun. I mustn't live my life only to please others; my own needs have been left in a cloud of subservient and entirely too stuffy dust. Thus, now I begin life again with a new outlook, a clearer vision and a springier bounce in my step. Be prepared for a new and improved Ernie Macmillan! Although, I'm not giving up being a prefect. I think I've become a bit of a narcoleptic lately. I keep falling asleep at random times in the day and then wake up to people pointing and laughing at me. The last time this happened, a small group of Ravenclaws found me in the boys lavatory, my trousers down to my ankles. Thankfully, my underwear was still on, but it was still quite embarrasing. I've just been working so hard... And every time I eat a large meal I just conk out. This is a recent development, so I do hope it's not permanent.

Gosh, being a prefect is rather difficult work. I hope everyone appreciates what effort and time I put into being at the forefront of school matters. In any case, obviously everybody knows that we Hufflepuffs beat Gryffindor fair and square. It was truly a glorious time to be a badger. I'm so pleased that we're getting at least one or two points back towards the yellow and black. We may not be in first place, but at least we're not completely out of the running. Valentine's Day can be so boring. I completely forgot it was coming around or else I would have thought to leave the country get a date. Oh well. Next year, I suppose.

The ball was fun. I had a good time. Ginny was a truly wonderful date and I'm so pleased I had the opportunity to go with her. I don't care what Zacharias says some people say, she's a very nice girl. The Weasleys and my family have been friends for ages, so it was nice to go with someone my parents would approve of I knew. And then Cho gave me the most delightful present for Christmas. She's such a sweet girl, really. I can see why she's so popular with the boys at Hogwarts. I wouldn't dare to try to enter myself into the competition to try and woo her, however. The field is crowded enough as it is! We also had our first DA meeting today. We didn't get that much accomplished, but Harry seemed to try his best. Both Ron or Hermione weren't there so I guess it was hard without their moral support. He's such a strong guy, you know. I can only imagine how hard it is for him to do so much all at once. I support him one-hundred-and-ten percent. I think he's definitely the strongest weapon we have against You Know Who so we must band behind him. I only wished we could learn a little more, a little faster. I understand that we can only do so much at once, but I feel like we could have a sneak attack by the Death Eaters and not know a thing, which, I must admit, is incredibly scary. I want to be prepared. Anyway, I suppose I should get back to making rounds in the castle. Being a prefect can be tough work, you know. But I know that I have to make sacrifices in my social life in order to keep the peace.

All this fuss over the Winter Ball is making me annoyed. Not having a date will do that to you. I had an arrangement with Hannah, and then Megan asked me and I stupidly said yes. So obviously they both found out and now I have no date. I suppose I'll be quite busy anyway... I could always just invent things to do. But I'm still available. Just in case anybody was wondering. If I don't get a date, I'm not going to go. Only losers do that.

I do hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas. Mine was extraordinarily bland, but I did get quite a bit of work done. Mum and Dad sent me some nice pajamas to help me through the winter. That was rather nice of them; I had been quite cold during the nights lately. I also was able to finish some homework and go on my prefect rounds... So while it wasn't exactly the most memorable of Christmasses, it was still quite productive. The holidays have been rather interesting... Far be it from me to be a gossip, but the rumour mill has been working overtime lately. Some of them seem rather outlandish, but one of them is making me especially worried. I heard (and I know that everything I hear isn't going to be gospel, so I'm just trying to relate what is being said) that Oliver Wood is helping the Gryffindors with their game before they go up against us in the next match. Now, I know nobody wants to give us Hufflepuffs a fair shot, but this is just patently ridiculous! Honestly, if they're that afraid of us, that's fine and dandy. But to actually instruct them as to cheating techniques? Now that's just absolutely awful and it saddens me. I always knew the Gryffindors aren't as noble as they always try to make themselves out to be, but this seems plain old nasty, even for them. Nobody ever gives us Hufflepuffs a fair shot.
